Mary agreed to become one of our dancers even though years ago after three dance lessons she and her husband decided they are better suited for hiking. Believing that we continuously learn and grow, Mary decided that she would be thrilled to learn to dance for such an incredible cause. Mary believes that when we mobilize the resources in our community, we not only achieve great things but we also develop close friendships and a caring culture.
This year she and her husband Dan are celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary. They have three grown children and two amazing granddaughters. Mary enjoys spending time with her family, hiking with her husband and being part of an innovative school district. She is grateful to live in Big Bear where we are immersed in the natural beauty of the mountain!
Mary shares that serving as the Superintendent of Schools in Bear Valley Unified School District, provides her the daily opportunity to view firsthand the amazing talents our children possess and the overwhelming support our families and community generously offer to ensure the highest quality of education for all students. Mary believes that each child and adult possess infinite potential.
Her passion and commitment is to prepare students to be creative, critical thinkers, compassionate citizens and lifelong learners. Educating, inspiring and preparing students for their futures will positively impact this community and other communities where our students choose to serve. Mary has a tireless spirit that perseveres and embraces the journey. Let the music begin!
